A ‘Grow Your Own Mushrooms at Home’ workshop will be held at Nakunbalook in Sale this month.

Sale’s own Flooding Creek Fungi will be on-hand to host the workshop, which is the third in an ongoing series of Wellington Shire Council facilitated seminars that focus on living more sustainably.

Participants will learn how to grow their own oyster mushrooms, through practical demonstrations and shared technical details, such as the backyard business’ successful growing method. Those who sign up will leave with a kit to incubate and fruit at home, and the offer ongoing support to maintain it.

The workshop will be held from 10am-12.30pm on Tuesday, April 18 at Nakunbalook Environmental and Cultural Education Centre in Sale, adjacent to Seed Community Garden.

The cost is $60 per person, which includes the kit. Children under 16 are admitted free.
